Shane has been an avid CrossFitter for over five years, having joined RCFP when his wife Julia was pregnant with Logan, now a FirePower Kid! Shane’s journey helped him to lose 50 lbs; he is now an RCFP competitive team member and embraces a fit lifestyle. He began coaching in 2015 to pass it forward: he left the corporate world to spend more time with his kids and is dedicated to showing kids just how important it is to take of oneself. His entire family works out together at the gym and at home!
Shane grew up playing soccer and baseball, played rugby in college and in a men’s league for several years after that. He is a CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Olympic Lifting trainer. When not at the gym, Shane challenges himself by participating in adventure and long-distance runs.
A former recreational gymnast and competitive swimmer, Maria started CrossFit in 2012 and has been hooked ever since. Now a McGill Martlet, Maria is looking forward to linking her love of fitness with a formal education in nutritional sciences.
Jaz moved to Milton with his family in 2012. Settling in to a new school proved challenging, and being shy made the adjustment even harder! Although he played various sports growing up, when Jaz discovered Reebok CrossFit FirePower, he fell in love with CrossFit.
Jaz began training at FirePower Kids and has since grown into the adult classes. He says, “Doing CrossFit made me a better student at school and transformed me into a better athlete. It also helped me to make friends and become less shy.”
Jaz will attend college to pursue his dream of being a police officer.
